Stay

Millars By The Lake is a heritage-listed cottage, nestled within the picturesque mill settlement of Quinninup,
deep in the heart of the Southern Forests of WA.

Guests are enveloped in a sense of calm as soon as they open the door,
from the nature-inspired colour palette to the linen and bedding.

Whether you’re enjoying a glass of wine on the verandah, star gazing from the outdoor bath, bird spotting on the back porch or watching the mist rise at nearby Karri Lake, Millars is an idyllic setting to escape, unwind, and simply…just breathe.

The cottage

The two-bedroom cottage is perfectly imperfect, with a captivating rustic warmth throughout from the original jarrah floorboards to the thoughtfully curated vintage artwork and furniture.

Up to four guests can comfortably enjoy Millars, which includes two queen sized beds, an open living and dining space, and well-equipped kitchen.

A stay at Millars is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with those you hold dear. Relax on the verandah, read a classic on the chesterfield, or put on an old romcom DVD and cosy up on the couch.

The location

Millars is steeped in history, perched on the corner of Quinninup’s historic mill settlement founded by Millars Timber & Trading Co in 1944. The town is flanked by giant Karri forest and the picturesque Karri Lake just a five minute walk away, while the Quinny tavern - boasting local wines and hearty meals (and the footy) - is an easy stroll south.

The nearby towns of Pemberton and Manjimup (with excellent cafes and restaurants) are a 25 minute drive away via picturesque rolling hills and ancient tree-lined roads, with plenty of opportunities to taste locally made wines and produce along the way. The scenery-packed coastline and swimming beaches of Windy Harbour and the rugged D’entrecastaux National Park are 40 minutes south.
